We started out with a beautiful home that was missing warmth and depth! We fully furnished the primary bedroom, entry area, dining room, breakfast room and living room. For the primary bedroom we color-drenched the entire room in a deep grey-brown paint color. We added in a modern canopy bed with textural, light-colored linen and wool bedding to balance out the high vaulted ceilings. The modern, vertical chandelier brings in a sculptural element, and the large pottery lamps give an organic shape. We kept the drapery and furniture light to help create an airy feel as a juxtaposition to the heavier, dark paint color. We kept the warm, modern and collected style going throughout the home. In the living area we kept a traditional layout with two chocolate brown structured sofas facing each other, two striped swivel chairs, and two leather ottomans. We wanted the room to feel sophisticated, yet approachable and comfortable for many people to enjoy being together. The large coffee table with nesting stools also act as additional seating or tables. The dining table is planned with lingering in mind. We intentionally selected comfortable chairs to encourage friends to stay a while! The breakfast nook is more playful and less formal with natural ratan covered modern chairs and a dark reclaimed wood dining table. We love how it all came together!
