The Montrose Project is a full downstairs renovation located in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, centered around a completely reimagined kitchen and adjacent living spaces. What began as a plan to update cabinetry and countertops evolved into a full gut renovation, including a new kitchen, flooring, wallpaper, and fireplace. The design features a warm, earthy palette of blues, greys, and greens, creating a modern yet grounded kitchen that feels inviting and intentional. A key design moment appears at the transition from kitchen to bar, where a waterfall countertop wraps the corner to define a dedicated coffee zone and add architectural interest. Custom details elevate the space, including the use of four pendants over the island, an unexpected choice that brings rhythm and balance to the room. Photographed spaces include the kitchen, laundry room, powder bath, and bar, each reflecting our approach to Houston interior design that prioritizes thoughtful layout, materiality, and livable beauty.
